With the week of the 4th of July upon us, visitors and locals alike are planning their day of food, fun, and fireworks. Here is my guide to the "don't miss" activities and events along (and around) 30a to celebrate the patriotic day.

"Smoke on the Coast" - Wednesday, July 3rd

Nothing says the 4th of July like BBQ. On Wednesday, head over to the Destin Commons for an evening of food and fun. There will be BBQ samples from numerous local restaurants, family activities, and live music from local favorites Heritage and the Forrest Williams Band. This is sure to be a great prequel to your plans for the 4th! Best of all, proceeds benefit local charities. for more info see below:

Grayton Beach 4th of July Parade - Thursday, July 4th

Right in the heart of funky Grayton Beach, at the Red Bar's former location, will begin the Grayton 4th of July Parade tradition at 8:30am. There is no registration to take part, just come dressed up in your most festive gear, decorate your car or bike, and join in on the fun. Partaking as a bystander is just as fun - either way, a "Grayt" way to start your 4th. See more below:

Seaside 4th of July Concert and Fireworks - Thursday, July 4th

You don't want to miss this. On the evening of the 4th, right in the heart of 30a, in iconic Seaside, Sister Hazel will perform. Enjoy the live music and catchy tunes we all know and love under the stars. The evening will conclude with what is sure to be an amazing fireworks show. Live music will start at 5:30, with Sister Hazel performing at 7:30 - fireworks begin at 8:30.

There are so many fun events to choose from up and down 30a and surrounding areas to celebrate the 4th this year - these are just a few of my favorites! Enjoy the holiday and be safe!
