Dog Days On 30a

Visiting our little beach town, or even better, contemplating a move? 30a is extremely family friendly, and I mean the WHOLE family, including man's best friend! Here are some tips for hanging around town with the furriest members of the family.

Dog friendly dining:

Dining  "al fresco" is huge along 30a. Not only is the weather beautiful most of the time, dogs are usually welcome on bar and restaurant patios around town. See some suggestions below:

Chanticleer Eatery (Grayton Beach) - Chanticleer is the cutest little cafe right here in Grayton Beach (literally steps away from our office). They have amazing soups, salads, sandwiches, and a nice tree-shaded patio to dine with your dog. This is a relaxed and low key atmosphere, great for even the shyest pups.

Great Southern Cafe (Seaside) - Is your pup a social butterfly? Great Southern Cafe in Seaside is usually busy, and always dog friendly on their spacious patio. Covered or sunny table options are available, and chances are you will make some new furry friends.

These are just a couple of my favorites. Many other restaurants with outdoor seating welcome dogs, but it's always best to call ahead, just in case.

Alaqua Unleashed Dog Park:

Just a short drive across Hwy 98, you'll find the Alaqua Unleashed dog park. Affiliated with Alaqua Animal Refuge, the park is Walton County's largest off-leash dog park. You can find me there most weekends with my own fur-babies, throwing tennis balls and making new friends. There are several different areas and plenty of room to run and play.

A good old-fashion W-A-L-K:

30a is a great place to get out and enjoy a walk with your dog. The miles and miles of walking/biking path right along 30a is the obvious choice, but there are also miles of state park trails for the more adventurous. Enjoy all the dog-friendly outdoor activities our area has to offer your next visit to 30a!
