Driving along 30A after dark is always challenging. Because of lighting restrictions the area is usually pitch-black, leaving one grateful that the deer grazing just inches off the roadway actually
Happy Thanksgiving From Santa Rosa Beach
Thanksgiving has always been my favorite Holiday. A time of fellowship, food and true thanks-giving. There is no pressure of "the perfect gift" exchange, no going out on the town to all hours of the night; for me it is family, lots of food and gratitude. This Thanksgiving we were very lucky to have dinners spanning all week! And I know what you're thinking, "Gosh wouldn't you just be so sick of all that Turkey..the pies..?". I am here to tell you nope, It was wonderful. Every. single. night.
We were blessed to have dinner with my Family here in Santa Rosa Beach as well as my Husbands Family in Destin. Lots of love, reconnecting and unplugging. Our kids playing with cousins, those "no holiday would be complete without" hilarious family moments and oh the food! An all around wonderful week and my heart is full.
At 3:45am this morning, My husband rushed our son Luke to Sacred Heart Hospital here in South Walton. Our son had some very bizarre symptoms that closely matched those of a time sensitive, life threatening illness. With such bazaar symptoms and the speed it took him down, it is an understatement to say I was worried. Doctors and staff were wonderful and Luke wound up testing positive for Strep. I was so GRATEFUL for the news. Any other day that news would have been terrible, but to what we thought was happening, this actually was a blessing. Funny huh? He got a big ol' shot and is home resting, already on the mend. Thank you for the prayers everyone.
My thanksgivng this year was FULL of thanks indeed. I am thankful for the good times I had with my family, each person so wonderfully important and unique. I am grateful for the food that we were so fortunate to enjoy and grateful to belong to a church and community who help feed the many that are not so fortunate.
But I am most thankful that when times seem hard, confusing or out of our control... I am grateful that in those moments I am not alone. And this beautiful week was a reminder.
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and continues to have a very Blessed Holiday season.
